MerSend is the mobile app for MercurySend, the business messaging platform operated by BigSMS Pty Ltd. There is one account behind the app, the web dashboard and the API, so deleting it removes it from all three.
From the MerSend app (Android or iPhone)
- Open the More tab.
- Tap Settings.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete my account.
- Enter your password to confirm it is you.
- Confirm. You will be signed out on every device straight away.
If you do not have the app, or cannot sign in
Email support@mersend.com from the address on the account and ask us to delete it. We will check that the request really comes from the account holder, then delete it for you. We action these within 30 days, and usually within two business days.
What happens after you ask
- A 30-day grace period. The account is scheduled for deletion and immediately stops working. If you change your mind, sign back in during those 30 days and the deletion is cancelled.
- Then it is permanent. After 30 days your profile, your contacts, your message history and their content, your media attachments, your saved templates and your push-notification tokens are erased. This cannot be undone.
What we keep, and why
A small amount of data outlives the account because the law requires it of us. We keep it only for as long as those obligations run, and we do not use it for anything else:
- Consent and opt-out records — so that someone who replied STOP is never texted again, which telecommunications regulators require us to be able to prove.
- Billing, invoice and tax records — kept for the period required by Australian tax and corporations law.
- Compliance and audit logs of messages sent, in the form required by carrier and regulator obligations.
Deleting one contact instead of your account
If you only want to remove a person you have messaged, open that contact in the app or the dashboard and choose Delete contact. Their details and your conversation are removed; their opt-out record, if they have one, is kept so they stay unsubscribed.
